    Air Scooter

    this is from the site:

The AirScooter II is currently undergoing the final testing phase on the AeroTwin Engine. The AirScooter II is expected to be available sometime in 2005, but no firm date has been determined at this time.

No pricing will be available on the AirScooter II until after final product testing is complete and manufacturing plans are finalized. Project price at this point is under $50,000.

Since the Air Scooter is classified as an "ultralight" by the FAA, so you don't need to spend $$$$ on training and certs.

Yeah, maybe not. However, it has two things going for it:

1.) It will get you over traffic if you work downtown.
2.) People won't laugh at you AS much as they would if you were sporting a Segway!

Hmm...that's pretty cool. I wonder how high that thing can get? It's funny because they don't really mention the height it can fly anywhere on their site. Is that supposed to be a known or am I just a dumbass?

I made one of those things before --

My version consisted of: two box fans, some pvc pipe, extra long extension cord, and two rolls of duct tape.

    I love it !

If they have an emergency chute, I would seriously consider one.

Yep, it does have an emergency chute, and it also has GPS! They are also gonna offer more safety features, like air bags to cushion your landing.

I believe the top altitude is 500 ft. The top speed is approximately 55mph.

    I like this version.

If you did invent a hovercraft, are there any regulations from DOT or the FAA against it?
