From THIS news story at the bottom. German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said that he hoped Saddam’s government collapses quickly. That was a stark turnaround from Germany’s previous opposition to regime change as a goal of the U.S.-led war. Hmmm, everyone wants to be on the winning side. My guess is that Germany will be awarded some contracts to help rebuild Iraq, whilst France will not. DD
I just have this feeling that there are not too many countries that actually want Saddam to stay in power...and even though they oppose the war to throw him out...they aren't shedding any tears that he is getting thrown out.
