Graduated college at 10? Damn. Now he's a millionaire too. I don't have a degree, which wouldn't matter much if I had a million bucks, but I don't have that either. :(

60 minutes did a story on this kid years ago. His life really didn't look like very much fun. His mom had to sit with him in college classes and he never had a childhood because he was always working on school and they always had to give him more work to "challenge" him.

I know a million bucks is nice, but I'd rather have real childhood.

I agree. My wife is always talking about getting our son into gifted programs and having him graduate early. For one thing he's only 3 so that's way too early. Secondly, why hurry up his adulthood? Force him one year earlier into having to worry about paying bills, etc.

I hated being a kid, personally.

C'mon! While we all wanted to "grow up" you didn't have fun at all as a child?

As much as I hate to say this, if I could relive my life for only one year, it would be age 12.

I'm sure there were some good times, but mostly I just remember a whole lot of bad. It could've been much worse, but I just remember feeling nearly unrelenting sadness and loneliness, as well as a feeling of helplessness due to a lack of control over nearly any aspect of my life (and I didn't care for that).

My greatest fear is that time is circular and, when we die, we go back and do it all again.
