Gene Chizik to Iowa State

Great pickup for Iowa State. I was hoping we would get him after firing Franchione.

 

I had heard about it this morning here in Austin. I don't think it's necessarily bad news. He was as good as gone. Plus, if anything held them back this year, it was terrible game planning on the defensive side of the ball. I think Akina is gone, too, as he was in charge of the DB's who were nothing short of terrible this season.

 

Chizik was awesome. I cant believe the media didnt hype him up more as a head coach candidate last year. I guess he blew his reputation this year with that horrible pass defense. Otherwise he was Alabama or Michigan State worthy...
