    Hey, anyone know of odd names for high school teams in Houston? I'm doing some research and I haven't found a good comprehensive source on Google.

    I don't know if they've changed the mascot by now, but back when I was in Lamar High School, it was the Redskins.

    Nothing too weird except that Mirabeau Buonaparte Lamar was known to be a Native American killer. Irony.

    I do like the Springtown Porcupines..they used to have a cool-looking Porcupine costumed mascot

    they used to be the Frisco Fightin' Coons..but had to change their name (I didn't know that was a racial slur)
