Went by JCI today for lunch. I posted earlier that I hate how expensive they are and, sure enough, my lunch ended up costing right at 7 bucks.

But as I was reading my little plaquard on my table, I noticed an interesting special they have right now. If you buy a $20 gift card, you will get a "bonus" $20 gift card for free.

The catch is the "bonus" card is good only in January.

That said, if you like eating there regularly, this is a good deal. I don't nearly mind having 6 lunches at JCI over the next couple months for $20 bucks. (which would work out to be about $3.50/lunch. Much more reasonable to me)

    Thought I'd pass along.

Blasphemy. If this were a few hundred years ago, I'd be convinced you are a witch and burn you.

James Coney Island is too expensive. i like their dogs, but paying more than five dollars for a value meal of hotdogs fries and a drink isn't good.

as a matter of fact, i'm almost about priced out of all value meals, i'm really only doing dollar menus in breakfast nowadays. their prices are getting ridiculous, there are a lot of other options

I've never heard James Coney Island abbreviated to JCI until this thread.

I think McD's started this crap with supersizing. Now all fast food joints start with medium or large size and pass on the cost.

I grew up with JCI and I love their dogs.

But they recently raised their already-high prices and I'm going to have to cut back on the frequency that I go there.

Sadly, price increases have occurred at most restaurants around the city. I'm eating at restaurants less and less as a result.

And I think it's unjustified. There's no way that the food quality I get warrants the high prices.

JCI is a perfect example. You can't tell me that the weiners, buns, fries and soda that costs $7 is worth $7. Nor can you convince me that JCI has raised their prices simply to cover their costs.

Screw that. I'm eating at home.

Like a lot of places, they jacked up their prices when gasoline was briefly being made out of crushed diamonds. Like a lot of places, the prices ain't come down since the ass fell out of the oil bubble.

JCI is my ****. I'm still angry with them for not selling beer anymore, however.

Well, yeah... But that was kind of the entire point of this thread. If you put down $20 bucks, you get $40 bucks worth of their gift cards, making everything on their menu half price for the next 2 months, or $40, whichever comes first.

Does JCI still do 99 cent dogs on Sundays?

I've been chowing on the $1.50 kosher dog & soda at Costco lately.
