seth payne and ted johnson were talking about posey's achilles tear. It led to a conversation on their worst injuries. Seth tore two of three hamstring tendons from his groin. Ted ripped off both biceps a year apart. He said its just a hole in your arm left after the muscle rolls up. I have never heard anything more chilling.
The most gruesome thing I have ever seen on a football field was a receiver getting his shin bone snapped in half, and having it poke through his sock. He was going up for a ball, and when he landed, the safety who was coming in tripped, and he fell helmet first right into the kid's shin. I still remember the sound, and the subsequent screams like it was yesterday. Crazy stuff.
I only played high school football, but you would have to think that's pretty much what all the pro's have withstood. They should be glad they still have their wits about them and that they never experienced the gruesome breaks we know are possible just from guys being in a bad angle or spot. That shin thing sounds horrible, but the worst that still comes to my head is the Johnny Knox back injury from last season.
i played frehman year hs a guy's foreman bone came through his skin and another guy tore his knee. Later during first semester finals i got in a stupid fight fight with knee guy and screwed it up again. He was rb and never was the same. I didnt do it on purpose btw.
