As requested previously, you need to get your story straight. You (as much as post article/vid and run can be ascribed to you) can't claim that Obama is Bush lite, and then simultaneously insinuate that he is a radical leftist who is destroying the foundations of democracy and replacing it with an islamic socialist state.

It's one or the other, can't be both.

Really, the only two things necessary on this board are to have a logical argument, or at least be funny. You are terribly bad at both of these things. No wonder your threads, even the ones in which you put forth a modicum of effort aside from "CTRL-C" and "CTRL V", are swiftly dragged down into the gutters where most of them belong.

It would be better if they were just dragged off the first page, which they would be if you guys would stop dignifying his repeat fails with responses.

I think what basso is claiming is that Obama was guilty of playing to his rabid liberal fringe crowd during the campaign by saying he'd close Guantanamo quickly, then upon realizing it was a poorly hatched, naive, ill-conceived, and impractical idea, he reversed course. I agree with that statement, and agree that the Sheeple are dumb and gullible enough to believe anything. Unfortunately for them, Obama's mouth was writing checks that his ace couldn't cash. ...just goes to show the stupidity of some of the liberal fantasies as they relate to foreign policy...

    So Gitmo is closed?

Guess the plan was so incredibly stupid that Obama couldn't even sell it to his own Congressional supporters...

sure i can, and to any one paying attention, this was always the case, that he'd largely support Bush policies overseas once he'd been elected, and that he'd be the most radically liberal president (except for gay marriage) in history on the domestic front.

that he'd essentially be Bush w/ a happy brown face is largely the reason i was open to him. and before you jump on me for the brown comment, remember, this is the man who told axelrod befor running that his reason for jumping into the race was because people would look at the US differently "when they saw my face."

my objection, then as now, was the cynical manipulation of the electorate, and the trashing of the US, her troops, and her history as a means of getting elected.

    intellectual dishonesty, indeed.

Note: We are not holding Magneto level criminals at Gitmo -- we have facilities in country for the 260 or so men currently housed. We are holding terrorists/ murders, rapists, etc. right now -- i'm sure we have facilities in the States that are much more secure than Gitmo.

Bingo. He was willing to say anything, consequences ignored, to be elected...even if it meant lying about the honor of our troops and their efforts. How sad is that? He trashed the military every chance he got. Now he's recognizing the absurdity of his positions and reversing course. When you are playing to the emotions of the crowd (disingenuously, I might add), and the crowd is largely made up of poorly informed idol-worshipping sheep, then you can manipulate them with ease. That's exactly what took place. Manipulated by a two-faced, lying, unqualified fraud of a candidate.

He didn't, that is part of the right wing noise machine that t_j and others perpetuate. If you say it enough, people will start to believe you. For evidence, I proffer the number of people who believe that Saddam was involved in the 9/11 plot, which in 2007 was 41% of Americans.
