Brown Joins Hornets on 10-Day Deal

NEW ORLEANS - Guard Tierre Brown signed a 10-day contract Monday with the New Orleans Hornets, whose starting backcourt is injured.

Brown played 15 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers (news) last season and 40 games for the Houston Rockets (news) two seasons ago.

He's expected to back up Darrell Armstrong, a starter since David Wesley sprained his left big toe Jan. 16. Baron Davis, the other starting guard, has been out since spraining his left ankle three days later.

Brown has been playing in the National Basketball Development League

Good. I'm glad to hear this. Maybe he can make the team for the rest of the season. He will get to mentor until Baron Davis.

Good for him. He deserves another shot, though I don't see him staying on the team after BD comes back. With Darrell Armstrong there, don't see the Hornets need for a backup PG.
