This may be a stupid question, but if we did trade for Howard he will obviously want another star to play with him. Would it be possible to get him to agree to a two year deal, with the promise that we will land another star within that time frame? He is friends with Josh Smith, so I think it would be in the Rockets best interest to land him in the FA market. If we end up with Dwight, would it be a good idea to get him to sign a two year deal with the assumption we will land Smith in the FA next year? Smith is available in 2013, as is Paul, Curry, Ellis, and Evans. In 2014 Granger, Melo, the big 3 (who will stay together probably), Gay, Amare, Dirk, and Kobe (he will stay in LA probably) are all on the market.
Aw man, I would absolutely love to sign Curry next off-season. It is doubtful the Rockets would have the cap space to acquire a free agent star through free agency however, due to all the veteran contracts they may have to absorb.
