O.K. there has been a bunch of talk about the supposed Landry's tower to be built downtown... www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/1659362 I think a tower would be kind of cool, I just do not want it built by Landry's. I'm from the Seabrook / Clear Lake and I have seen how Landry's has bastardized the waterfront. Now this is going to happen downtown? A bunch of white trash idots doing the Macarena at Joe's Crab Shack is not my idea of downtown revitalization. I say stop the tower. We can do better.
I don't have a problem with an observation tower in principle, however, it is VERY likely this tower would sit nearly eye level with traffic on I 45. That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
