Didn't we get offered Ben Wallace at one point?

I seem to remember we got offered Ben Wallace at one point, whomever said no to that deal should have his head examined.

You didn't get any argument from me. I have been aware of Wallace almost as long as you (pre-season vs. Pistons...Collier's rookie year... he did well and everyone scoffed that it was insignificant because they had no idea who Wallace was) .

95+% of the trade proposals at CC.net are recognition of a player after that player has already surfaced onto every teams radar. In Stock Market parlance, it sort of like buy high, sell low. I'm glad alot of the posters here aren't managing my portfolio. :) (Actually, I do OK on my own)!

I don't ever remember us getting offered Wallace...but I do remember a LOT of speculation and hope that we get him to replace Cato for this last season...

Everyone wants to jump on the Wallace bandwagon now.

But pick the next Wallace coming out before he gets that good. I think this Stoudamire kid out of high school could be it. He's definitely raw but he plays with the same kind of intensity as Wallace and he may have more athleticism. Problem is he's definitely a project and not much benefit to our immediate future.

Also the Magic did not want to lose Wallace they hated it but they thought receiving Grant hill More than compensated for thier loss.
A funny thing that hindsight is.
