The Nets will be interesting next season, despite how awful they are this year. They have Brook Lopez, and could very well get John Wall (making Devin Harris tradeable) and a big-name free agent. That, to go with a new coach, new owner, and new arena... it's certainly a new beginning.
considering that the nets could be a fun team to watch next year with the opportunities available in free agency $100 to secure good seats isnt really a bad investment move
If they get the #1 pick, they'll definitely be very interesting. Could see them signing a second or third tier free agent (Lee, Stoudemire, Johnson, etc) and trading Harris for a good wing like Iggy. So sure, I'll call it now and say they'll at least scrape their way into the playoffs in the East next season.

Jackson did not employ an agent when he was in the running for head coaching jobs in New York and Minnesota last summer and Phoenix in 2008, preferring to deal one-on-one with team executives. Jackson, 44, got passed over for all three jobs but is expected to be in demand once the NBA’s coaching carousel starts spinning at the end of April. “Despite the economy and the potential work stoppage, there’s going to be more movement than we’ve seen in the past,” said one person involved in the coaching business. The two most sensible landing spots for the ABC/ESPN commentator are the Clippers and Nets, according to sources familiar with both situations. Jackson lives in Los Angeles and is a native New Yorker. Despite turmoil in both organizations, the situations will be extremely attractive for top coaching candidates this summer. One person familiar with how coaching candidates view the Clippers job described the team as being in the “best shape in the league” payroll-wise and talent-wise. There are signs that frugal owner Donald M. Sterling, who demoted and then fired former coach and GM Mike Dunleavy in recent weeks, could be ready to open his notoriously tight checkbook for a high-profile name like Jackson. The Nets, according to sources, would be viewed as more of a longer-term growth opportunity for Jackson, who has no previous coaching experience. But the cap space to sign a max free agent, the possibility of landing presumed No. 1 pick John Wall, and the team’s eventual move to a new arena in Brooklyn – one borough over from Jackson’s native Queens – might overshadow the fact that the Nets (7-61) are on their way to one of the worst seasons in NBA history. Another situation that bears watching is Indiana, where Jackson enjoyed some of his best years as a player. Former Pacers GM Donnie Walsh, who also is represented by Jackson’s new agent, Steve Kauffman, thinks highly of Jackson and still holds sway over Pacers owner Herb Simon when it comes to transformational decisions such as a coaching hire. If the Pacers decide to dismiss Jim O’Brien after the season for a new voice, and Jackson’s communication skills popularity within the organization will be among his biggest strengths. Jackson’s decision to sign with Kauffman Sports Management made official his well-known private desire to leave the broadcast booth for a chance to coach. Sources familiar with Jackson’s thinking say he is cognizant of the role his lack of experience would play and is determined to recruit the most experienced assistants possible to help him make the transition. Philadelphia, Chicago, New Orleans and Golden State are among the other teams that could be contemplating coaching changes this summer. I don't really get this at all. Not with Davis and Kaman sucking up ~ $24M a year. Gordon is talented but gives you an all-shooting backcourt with no real distributor. Griffin is a question mark. Going to have a mid-lottery pick unless they get lucky, which isn't bad at all. They can add one upper level FA if they can recruit one in (Rudy Gay?), but they tend to spend money poorly the rare times that they do so. The Nets have only $22M on the books for next year, $8M after that, and are loaded with rookie deals to keep their payroll/talent ratio great. They're going to have a top pick adding to that. Assuming they don't pull a Detroit and give max deals to role players, they could rebound in a HUGE way. In a way, that's like adding THREE franchise players to put alongside Lopez and Devin Harris, with Lee and Douglas Roberts adding fair bench support. Chicago: room for one max FA, an existing franchise PG, a quasi-all star in Deng, a good role player in Noah, but a mediocre draft pick. Knicks: great payroll shape, but little talent staying on the roster (Walker, Douglas), no draft pick. Washington: room for two max guys, but a terrible track record in recruiting real talent over fools gold. May not be spending any money this summer - Polin's death could lead to a team sale (in which clearing out payroll "debt" becomes a high priority). Good draft pick coming. Wolves: room for a max guy (won't get one worth having), and will add another high draft pick, provided they don't royally screw up like they did last year. Probably the best talent-dollar ratio right now would be the Thunder, Griz, or Lakers. I'd say the Cavs, but they're overpaying the hell out of anyone not wearing a #23.
Its not as if Baron Davis and Chris Kaman are scrubs. I'm also not that impressed with the Bulls roster: a quasi-all star in Deng= More like an over paid SF. The Bulls also have no low post threat as Taj Gibson is a jump shooter and Noah's offensive game consists of putbacks and dunks. The Bulls are also paying Heinrich to come off the bench a ton. Derrick Rose isn't even that good of a playmaker as Baron Davis gets more assits than he does...
i totally thought it was a nets fan on the bbs trying to get some life in the nets arena but man this is funny. 2010 lottery hehe
Deng is a very good player. Overpaid, sure, but look at his efficient volume scoring this season, not to mention 7.3 boards per game. With Deng, Rose, Noah, and the cap space to add a max free agent plus one half of max guy, they're in very good shape. I could easily see them getting Wade and becoming instant championship contenders.
LOL, instead of showcasing their team. They'd rather sell the ideas of "new ownership" and "$23.3 million to spend" to their fans.
