    I don't know a POP3 server from my Pops.

On Internet Explorer I can never send or receive mail because my set-up is wrong. Help!

I think it is something like "pop-server@yourISP.com."

    SMTP is "smtp-server@yourISP.com."

That's the way it is on mine and I just set it back up last week. :)

    AB,

Usually your ISP will have a help-webpage dedicated to helping set up the various mail clients that are out there.

    What ISP are you using?

If you're using Outlook Express, start the program and then click on 'Tools'. Form there, click on 'Accounts'. Click on 'Mail', click on 'Add'.

Fill in the blanks, enter your name, click 'Next'. Enter your email address, click 'Next'. Your pop3 server is generally mail.yourisp.com (or .net). Earthlink is mail.earthlink.net. Generally, the SMTP server is the same so enter it again, click 'Next'. Enetr the username and password you need to access the account. Check 'Remember Password'. Generally leave the 'SPA...' box unchecked. Click 'Next'. Click 'Finished'.

As Codell wrote, your ISP should have a help page for the setup specifics. Other email programs have setup wizards similar to Outlook Express.
