    This is an excerpt of a Chinese article posted in another thread:

    A reporter asked Yao Ming: "This is your second season in the NBA. With this victory, do you think you have already completed your transition and fully adapted to NBA life?" Yao relied: "We can't say that yet; I still have many deficiencies." When further pressed on what were those deficiencies, Yao Ming gave a philosophical reply: "Can you see what lies ahead when you're turning a corner?"

    Yao has said other things in the past that sounded as though they came from fortune cookies, but this one has to top 'em all. It's really like a Buddhist koan (probably the most famous of which is: "What is the sound of one hand clapping?"); is there another professional athlete capable of such a profound and thought-provoking comment?
