Kevin Martin = Funny. No wonder Cuban has a giant crush on him.

1 on 1 would be close if cuban has a decent mid range jumper, you know Martin isn't going to play D ;)

Question is, would you take Tyson Chandler for Martin?

Chandler fills a huge need while we have adequate alternatives at SG. While it is the exact opposite for Dallas, with adequate alternatives at C and a hole at SG.

Not the sexiest trade but Moreyesque? HMMM.

No. Not in answer to your question, but to your assertion that THIS is the question in a thread about a joke between Mark Cuban and Kevin Martin.

Random Trade Idea thread's just a short click or two away........

Nah, part of what made Chandler such an attractive option was the effect it would have on Martin, Brooks and Scola. He could have made up for a lot of their mistakes on defense and a front court of Hayes and Chandler could have had the makings of a shutdown 4/5. Take Martin out of the equation and he helps but you'd lose a lot of scoring punch that Lee or someone else couldn't make up. IMHO, you move Martin if you rebuild or if you can get someone of his level that actually plays some defense.

Let me clarify on how it relates.

Cuban has been after Martin since last year. This article only further proves his obsession. Which is why I was thinking of what we could get from their team.

Besides, it's not like I started a new thread. Don't be a thread nazi.

Not trying to be a Nazi. But at this point in the season, I think it would be refreshing for at least one thread created purely as a non-trade-related topic to stay non-trade-related.

    But maybe that's just me.

(Besides, we agree on so many other issues, we were bound to disagree on SOMETHING! ;) )

Don't worry: even without Martin, we still have plenty of holes in our defense that needs a shotblocker to plug up.

One thing I find interesting is how self-aware Kevin Martin is. He seems to very much know what his critics say about him (like bad D, not real star, relies on refs, etc) and seems to work on them. He's still not great on D but he's at least trying. For example, it seems that he's been getting some good deflections lately. He also seemed to be getting more aggressive at the end of games of late in response to the "not clutch" rap.
