After reading a post about him, I thought about this. He seems to care (from my perspective), about nothing to do with basketball. He could care less about winning, playing, impressing, holding on to his starting job, or giving his all during the game. It has become pretty obvious that, although I must admit that it has gone up recently, since he got the contract, Cato's game has greatly diminished. As long as he knows that he has that fat contract and the $$$ rolling in, he is going to do as little as possible. Wouldn't it be funny to see him retire after his contract is up? Saying, well, I've got the money to get me through the rest of my life, I'm out of here. Most people, like Yao, play for at least 2 things, love of the game, and the money. I can only say Cato falls under one of those categories, I believe he did love the game until he got his contract, and after that he realized what he could do. I don't see him fighting extremely hard to keep his starting spot, just because he knows that he will get the same amount of money either way. So this leads up to the question I have, is there anyone else in the NBA like Kelvin Cato? Of course this is all speculation, but if it is true, can you think of anybody else who simply refuses to give their all? Someone who says, why should I work harder than I have to? I know I can't. As much as I'd like to dump Collier, I would be estatic to see us get rid of Cato, not only because of his salary, but also his attitude. Pugs
Cato doen't love the game, never has. He went through a growth spurt and realized....damn I can make a lot of jack playing basketball. Now he's made his jack, so What the hell does he care.
