I just wanted to throw this up in case some people haven't heard about this promotion. Ubi Soft is bundling Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell with their new game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Since this deal is offered directly by the game company, it isn't store-specific, so it should be available at most major game retailers. They say the offer will be available all month, but I have a feeling it may be a "while supplies last" type of thing in most places. It applies to all 3 platforms (ie: buy an XBox version of Prince of Persia, get the XBox Splinter Cell, etc..).

FWIW, all 3 of the Electronics Boutiques in my area were already sold out of the bundles. I managed to find a copy at Wal-Mart, which fortunately still had a few GameCube versions left. Five bucks cheaper than EB, too.

Anyway, I'm psyched! Although it looked great, I wasn't planning on buying Prince of Persia, but this deal was too good to pass up. Splinter Cell is supposed to be a great game in its own right (it got excellent reviews) so to get it for free is wonderful.

That makes five new games for the Christmas season. I love my Cube. :)

ARGHHH...I've been wanting Prince of Persia, but I already got Splinter Cell for Christmas on my Cube. Damn the luck. I may just buy the set anyway and sell the extra copy of Splinter Cell on Ebay.

Dunno if its going to work, but apparently on Best Buy's website, there is a glitch where u put only Splinter Cell in your cart, it comes out to $5 and any Platinum Hit game after that (maybe the other games that are also under $19.99) will show up for $5. I order SC and Sega GT Online, which was a preorder. Doubt Best Buy will go through it, but hey, its worth a shot.

The best thing about this bundle is that they are both badass games. That's rare for a deal like this.

Yea, I was shocked when I saw two great games in the Circuit City ad offered for the price of one. So for a rare time, I made an impulse buy today...unfortunately, my third party mem card won't work with SC. At least POP rocks so far!

I remember playing Prince of Persia on my dad's IBM a longass time ago when I was 12 or so.... I definitely want to check it out. If its ANYTHING like the game was for the PC, I'm sooo getting it.

    Another great game deal:

Bargain hunters looking to pick up a cheap gift for their favorite PlayStation 2 gamer (or themselves) may be in luck. Circuit City is currently selling the PS2 edition of Beyond Good & Evil for just $9.99. The title is already out of stock on the electronics retailer's Web site, but it reportedly can still be found in Circuit City's outlets, albeit in rapidly shrinking numbers.

Circuit City has given no official reason for the massive discount, which will end this weekend. However, some industry insiders are speculating that critical praise did not translate into good sales for Beyond Good & Evil and that the retailer is doing some post-holiday inventory-pruning. This theory is borne out by the fact that EB Games has slashed the price of the PC and Xbox versions of the game to $19.99, the same price Amazon is hawking the PS2 and Xbox editions for. Rumors have also begun to swirl that a similar price drop may be in store for the GameCube version of the game, although no concrete discounts have surfaced.

If the Cube version of 'Beyond Good and Evil' drops in price around here, I am definitely going to pick one up. It's supposed to be a great game.
