Hey guys I have come back for more advice from my clutchfans family. I need help. I am stuck here in Colombia for work and am unable to watch the Rockets games because the stupid Direct TV here has like every sports package except NBA League pass. Anyway I have tried to watch the games online through ppstream but my internet SUCKS and is super slow. I am about to switch internet plans and pay an arm and a leg to get 1000k. I dont know anything about speeds (I think this means 1000 kilobits per second???). Anyway will this be sufficient to watch the games live on ppstream?? This is all I care about and the only reason I am upgrading my broadband. Any help before I make my decision would be appreciated. Thanks again guys.
Ya it is 1000 kbp which is roughly 100kBP. I think it should be enough to watch ppstream and pplive if that is the actual speed and not some possible range. On a side note, at work here my downlaod speed is 1960 kbp and my upload speed is 6600kbp! What a waste of upload speed.
1 kilobyte = 8 kilobits so 1000 kilobit = 125 kb / sec like if you watch videos on yahoo or nba.com those are 300kbits per sec which means they take up about 38 kb/sec of your bandwidth. so IF you are getting your full advertised speed of 125kb/sec you should be fine. BUT u never get the full thing. like i am getting the 3000kilobits one from att dsl and max i get is 2400 or roughly 250kb/sec. www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
