Boxer Bernard Hopkins says MMA is gay porno, not a sport

    BERNARD HOPKINS has caused controversy by blasting mixed martial arts fans.

    The Executioner, who is scheduled to return to the ring against Enrique Ornelas in December, claims the rapidly-growing sport is nothing more than 'entertainment p*rnography'.

    And Hopkins, 44, is adamant it cannot be compared to the sweet science.

    He fumed: "Everybody is different but I don't want to watch two grown men wrestling with panties on.

    "I'm from the hood, we don't play that. To me, I'm not buying a ticket to watch two grown men with panties on, sweating, with nuts in their face. That's not me.

    "To compare that to boxing is ludicrous. It's a porno — it's an entertainment porno.

    "I'm not wrestling a guy with panties on and his nuts in my face."

    Hopkins insists he would not have a problem with MMA if its core audience was made up mainly of women.

    But he clearly believes men should spend their time watching something else.

    Speaking to www.boxingscene.com, the American added: "I'm not criticising people for what kind of entertainment they like.

    "But I think most of those people have chains and masks in their closets.

    "I can understand if 90 per cent of women were going to those things but I can't understand a grown man sitting there with a couple of guys watching two grown men with panties on, sweating.

    "That's just my opinion but it's not a good look."

    I’m not saying he’s right, but every time I try to watch an MMA fight, it just deteriorates into 2 shirtless dudes rolling around on the ground together trying to hug each other to death.

    I know there’s MUCH more to it than that, but it just seems a little too homoerotic for my taste.

    UFC and Boxing both suffer from the same problem:

    There are a ****load of fights that are boring as hell with no action.

    Maybe UFC has less "boring" fights than boxing does, but there are a LOT of fights that end up with two guys grappling on the mat and not doing much else.

    Unfortunately, a boring fight in UFC has a lot more homoerotic undertones than does boxing.

    When you watch two tired boxers it looks like they are waltzing with each other.

    Lets face it but practically every sport where there is contact can be construed as homo-erotic. For example:

    As a guy though who has been in the guard erotic isn't something that comes to mind when the other guy is trying to break your arm.

    I would say that Bernard Hopkins might have some issues since he is the one who is thinking about homo-eroticism when he sees a UFC fight.
