Damn I got it today from Sam Goodys in Almeda mall. Had made a deposit just two days earlier on the last gamecube! Got Star Wars and Madden. Decided to wait on Luigis Mansion. On a sidenote I got the a/v component wires for PS2 and I am jamming! Woohoo! My girlfriend or anyone better not be calling me for a couple of days! Woo hoo!
Is it any good? Personally, I'm waiting for a RareWare game, like Perfect Dark 2, before I pick one up. Maybe if they release a good NBA game, I might be convinced to buy one... That new Zelda game which comes out next year looks terrible, so that isn't much of a draw for me.
I think it is actually going ot be called Perfect Dark Zero. The Zelda game uses the new cel shading stuff that everyone seems to think is popular right now (ala Cel Damage). I'm dissapointed by that choice. If youre looking for a reason to get the GameCube now, Rogue Squadron should be it. The game, especially the graphics, are suppossed to be unbelievable. TechTV's Extended Play has their GameCube special tonight. Should be interesting.
gamecube...bahh...i got me metal gear in the mail the other day and havn't had a chance to play it yet...tonight im going to sit down in my lazy boy after work, grab me an ice cold shiner bock, gaze into my new 43' 16:9 HDTV and play me some ps2 till i go blind...mmmmmmmm
Actually, word is that MGS2 will be coming to GameCube - at least that's what I heard. Plus they exclusively have titles like Resident Evil and Metroid and Perfect Dark if youre into those kind of games.

Do you have the component a/v cables for your ps2? If not, then I highly recommend it. I just got mine like 2 days ago and it makes a big difference. Be sure to get Monster ones. They are expensive at the store, $50 for video and $25 for audio. But Samgoody.com has em for a total for 50 bucks.
From what I hear, the newest Metroid is going to be a first person shooter, akin to Doom and Unreal Tournament, but with more exploration, etc.. The game takes place with the player looking out from behind the mask of Samus. I'm not a big fan of first person shooters, so I think this sucks and that while it may be a good game in its own right, it probably won't be a good Metroid. But hey, you never know...

I went to Wal-Mart last night. The guy working in electronics dept. didn't seem to understand english. me: "excuse me, hello, i was wondering if you knew when the next xbox shipments were due." guy: me: "okay, can i place one on reserve" guy: me: "thank you, you've been very helpful" === then i rearranged some cd's, held the xbox controller, watched friends play ps2 and left.
Yeah those walmart electronics guys are ya-hoos. I went there to get a game for playstation 2 here is how it broke down. Me: Are all your playstation 2 games behind the glass like this Guy: yeah (continues to look at someones pictures) Me: Could I get this one here? guy: Yeah ( is enthralled with this other persons pictures) So I sat there and waited for a couple minutes, the guy did nothing, plus he acted like I was being a major incovinence to him. So I left and bought the game at a local store, They had the game for 20 bucks less because it was used. Inside I found a recipt from Walmart. Ohhh the irony
good choices on the games R3. I played the star wars one for a little while and it kicked ass. Fade - have to agree with you there. I was all stoked about a new metroid game til I heard it was a FPS. A FPS in a metroid setting is NOT a metroid game, imo. I also played the Xbox oddworld on display. Bleh. Very average. I would have rather been able to play a game that would wow me. The controller sucked. My friend bought an Xbox and he said he wouldn't recomend it yet, but that halo is cool. Still, Xbox has some good games coming out for it in not too long, so I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it.
That rumor is false, unfortunately. Konami currently has no plans to port the game to GC. MGS2 is exclusive to PS2 for one year...in other words it cannot appear on any other system until mid-November 2002 at the absolute earliest. There is an Xbox game called Metal Gear Solid X in the works, and it's supposed to be an enhanced version of MGS2. But it will probably be a long time before that game comes out. I think Perfect Dark is slightly better But that's just me. I'm really looking forward to Perfect Dark Zero (which is likely to feature online play) I've also heard from a lot of people who currently own an Xbox that Halo is just as good as GoldenEye/PD.
