Anyone heard this new format? It's called BOBfm. According to the commercials they run on there, it's owned by a guy named "Bob" who plays "everything." It's radio without a format. Here in Austin, it's on 103.5 FM, which used to be an oldies station. It's pretty interesting. One minute you'll hear Outkast, next minute you'll hear Bay City Rollers.
I love this station because it's pretty much how I listen to the radio, flipping back and forth between channels constantly and listening to all different genres. plus, they mostly play uptempo stuff which is also perfect for me. it was a little weird when i got back up to austin and turned on 103.5 expecting oldies but instead heard "the devil came down to georgia." they even let him say "i done told you once you son of a b****" instead of "son of a gun" like most stations do. i fear the station will not be successful the way another station i loved, 93.3 when it became a techno/dance, didn't do well. not that the rap/hip hop they play now is bad but i loved that station when it was dance music.
