·Mavericks guard Avery Johnson on Hakeem Olajuwon: "He was a man of integrity, a man of passion and a man who messed up one of my championships." http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/bk/bkn/1664945
I also liked this one a lot: Rockets forward Maurice Taylor on Rasheed Wallace's flagrant foul on Steve Francis: "He never tries to hurt a player. Had it been a ref, maybe." Pretty nice sense of humor by Maurice .
Bryon Russell's comments were pretty scathing. I didn't know he hated the situation in Utah that bad. Wow.
That was surprising, but I guess it's not hard to see with Sloan. Then again, it's funny how guys like Eisley and Shandon were much more productive in Utah than after they left. Was it Sloan's "motivation," their system, or maybe just getting to play with Stockton and Malone? Can't believe I'm praising Utah -- guess it's easy being magnanimous while watching Utah and company fading in the twilight of their run.
