OK, I'm looking for a second job to supplement my income so I can make a big purchase in the coming weeks without taking on too much debt, if any at all. So, one of my friends points me to one of her friend's dad, who works for the Texas Workforce Commission. I e-mailed him and he responded telling me to come by his office any time in the next couple of weeks and he'll see what he can find. I'm going to go in today.

However, I'm not sure what I should wear. It seems to be a pretty informal thing. Also, I know this guy from the past. His daughter was only a year younger than me and he was good family friends with my best friend in junior high, so it's not like I'm meeting with a stranger. I've asked RM95's Girl and my roommate and I've got a vote for slacks/tie/no jacket and a vote for slacks/nice shirt/no tie.

    Any advice? Gracias.

I'd go with slacks, nice shirt, no tie.

The only time I wear a tie to an interview is when its one of those all-day sessions where I interview with like 5-10 different people for 30-45 minutes each. I HATE THOSE!

I would call and ask. If in doubt, it is always better to overdress. But from your description, I would consider slacks, shirt, jacket, no tie.

I wouldn't go with a jacket either. Based on your description, this is a part-time, second job that will last only long enough to make your purchase.

So it's not that formal. Keep it as casual as possible, while still looking professional. A nice long sleeve solid colored shirt with nice black slacks would do the trick.

I say kaki pants, nice shirt, no tie and a hat that says "I'm # 1".*

That way, they'll know you're The Man.

Peek-A-Boo Boxers (to show off "Rasputin") and Cardinal's shirt with "Tough Guy" / "Ball Stealer" written on it.

    attire
    1. dress; clothes; headdress; anything which dresses or adorns; esp., ornamental clothing. the antlers, or antlers and scalp, of a stag or buck. the internal parts of a flower, included within the calyx and the corolla.

    2. to dress; to array; to adorn; esp., to clothe with elegant or splendid garments.

Personally, I'd go with the antlers.
