    Wow, TIL that Marco Duarte, the minor leaguer Houston traded to Boston for Marwin immediately after the Red Sox drafted Marwin in the Rule 5, was still pitching in the Mexican league up until 2022.

    $40M and a ring. Not too shabby.

    He was around in the early 2010s dog days and was here during the franchise turnaround.

    - Breaking up Darvish's perfect game with 2 outs in the 9th
    - Gunning down Greg Bird in Game 1 of the 2017 ALCS against NYY
    - 9th inning homer in Game 2 saved the 2017 World Series IMO

    Obviously the World Series home run was huge but I’ll never forget that grand slam against the rangers.

    I was at that game, that's when I really felt the franchise had officially turned the corner and were true championship contenders.
