I am sure this has been brought up in the past but I only recently started posting in the debate and discussion section. Just wanted to see the make up of ClutchFans and who all posts here.

I hate generalizing cause a lot of people can be liberal on one issue and conservative on another issue. It is what is wrong with our two party system.

As some of you know I am a fiscal conservative but I am not a Republican. I do not agree with some of social issues the Republican party stands for which is mainly influenced by the far religious right.

Anyways if you had to identify yourself with one of the following which are you?

Anyways what would you identify your self as?

Why is there a "None of the above" option? How can you be none of them? If you're not liberal or conservative, you're inherently moderate, no?

Or am I just r****ded? (don't attack me, Sarah!)

Can someone define fiscally conservative for me? I am under the impression that true fiscal conservatives favor things like deregulation and the end of social programs like SS and medicare.

. . . apathy . . . apolitical . . . I don't give a $#it about who gets elected, who is running for president, what is going on internationally, or even things like abortion and gay marriage . . . as long as I get my appropriate tax return amount by a certain day, I could care less about politics group.

lol good one.. Yes Ron Paul would be a huge Fiscal Conservative..

    Anyways from wikipedia
    ----------
Fiscal conservatism is a political term used in North America to describe a fiscal policy that advocates avoiding deficit spending. Fiscal conservatives often consider reduction of overall government spending and national debt as well as balancing the federal budget of paramount importance. Free trade, deregulation of the economy, lower taxes, and other Classical Liberal policies are also often affiliated with fiscal conservatism.
    ---------

I personally just believe it is simple balance the budget and dont spend what you don't have. Limited Govt and personal responsibility.

I think the government should have massive amounts of control/intervention in certain few areas, and almost none in others. Unlike right now, where government is a mile long but only an inch deep.

    To quote GMC trucks.

"Do one thing, do it well."

socially very liberal and fiscally in between. i can see how the system can be taken advantage of, and of course i think personal responsibility is a good thing, but i'm so far from being in favor of some randian utopia where everyone's out for themselves and there are barely any taxes. i believe the haves should look out for the have-nots, and the privileged should aim to reduce the suffering of the underprivileged (this includes all creatures and living things on the earth). both unrestrained capitalism and well as socialism can be dangerous. i fall wherever it is on the spectrum where there is the greatest awareness of suffering.

    Agreed.

I think that most people, under 40, are moderates...whether they know it or not is a different story.

    Here, fiscally liberal, socially conservative.

I'm voting None of the Above as the opposite of Moderate. Conservative in some ways and liberal in others, but extreme in my views. Like a communist or a fascist.
