Right now, I am watching a special "CNN presents" about the issue of exploding Fords which this maker seems to be guilty disporportionately to other car-makers...

We all heard of the infamed pinto, but the results of this show is astonishing! We see example after, example...

It is arguable whether Ford is on the bottom totum pole for cars, but I hope this is a farce, but I am afraid there is something to this...Why don't you hear other makers with these problems?

I've always heard that Pontiac Fiero's were subject to blowing up over the slightest thing.

I had a Mrcury Sable once that had a fire under the hood, but that was easily contained and fixed. My Ford Tempo hasn't had any problems of the like, though, and it's over 10 years old.

Original body type VW van's blew up, as did some years of the original body Beetles.

GM had some pick-ups in the '80's that blew up in certain collisions very easily, when other pick-ups (Ford) wouldn't from the same wreck.

I knew someone personally who had a Fiero burn down.

Also knew of a few Chrysler's in the '80's prone to having wiring fires...

I agree it seems like poor Henry Ford's been raked over the coals lately, but I think it's koe- inky- dink. (coincidence);)
