I have been considering getting some people together to play some music since I have a bit more time as my newborn has graduated to infant status. I enjoy singing and have been told I have a good voice. My range is much like that of Fuel singer Brett Scallions and goes pretty far into the low end. I just don't have the 80s hair band scream (no big loss IMO).

    Anyone else interested?

We will need some kind of percussion. Too bad ImaDrummer already has a band (and probably hates me anyway ;) ).

    Huh? I don't hate you, dude. :D

I'm up for a jam. Maybe RMTex could suggest an 'open mike' that we could all meet up at.

The only ones I know are blues ones, but the Hideaway on Tuesday nights and the Big Easy on Wednesday nights would work.

Maybe you guys should discuss what songs you have in common. That way you don't waste the first hour with - "Do you know I'm a Man by Muddy Waters?" or "Do you know The Rooster by Alice in Chains?" ( I'm trying to imagine the singer from Fuel singing the blues)

There is an open mic night on Wednesdays right down the street from the school where the pick-up game was held in League City last weekend. It is called Mixed Nuts (affectionately called The Nut House by regulars) and there is no set genre.

I was going to mention this once we got somewhere near a full complement of players, but it appears that we have keyboards, vocals, guitar, and drums covered so it is probably about time for that.

BTW, I think I can do a pretty good rendition of most blues tunes and particularly enjoy Buddy Guy.

If I were to nominate 3 songs, they would be -
Alice in Chains - Man in a Box
Fuel - Million Miles (I have REALLY been having fun with that one)
    Pink Floyd - pick one
