I just got my new Panasonic digital camera a few weeks ago. I only barely used it once the weekend I got it. I left the newly charged battery in the camera, sitting in my home, and I have not used it since (3 weeks ago). Now I cant get the battery to charge at all. I put the battery in the wall charger and the green light come on for 5 seconds then it stops. It's not getting warm either. Am I going to have to go spend $30 for a new battery/ charger? This just pisses me off.
Did you charge it before the first time you used it? Some batteries require this before you use it or it could screw things up. Otherwise it could just be defective (or maybe the charger is defective). I would take it back to where you got it and see if they will replace the battery/charger under the manufacturers warranty.
Yeah, I charged it when i first got it a few weeks ago and it worked. I bought it online from Best Buy...
This is a crazy idea, but since it's new and if the battery came with it, have ya asked Best Buy to replace it under warranty?
I bought it online so it's a b**** just for a battery. In fact I know now I am going to have to mail it of to Iowa for the Panasonic warranty. I just wanted to be sure I didnt need to give it more time etc. So leave me alone.
Send it back for a new one, regardless, but pick up a replacement. I've got a spare for my Canon SD550, and they come in handy! Sounds like you got a bad one, made on a Monday, or whatever passes for an off day wherever the hell it was made. They ain't cheap... demand a new one! (and good luck)
Yeah, but I'm not sure its not the charger, so I'm sending that in too. But I guess I can get a new battery to test the charger first.
