Anybody else back at work but without air conditioning?

    I've been back at work since last Monday, but was working in a different building because the usual one was uninhabitable at the time. Last Thursday we moved back to our old building, but there is no A/C here. They say it could be a couple more weeks before it's fixed. At least they're letting us wear shorts.

    As you can see, the thermostat reads 91.4 :(

    And don't ask me why we couldn't just stay in the other building. The management around here is bonkers.

    Is anybody else in a similar situation or am I the only one sweating my balls off doing DESK work?

    That must be interesting. How are the fat ladies doing with the layered make-up? Bunch of women running around with running mascara.

    I used to work as an electronics tester at a warehouse up in McKinney where the inside temp was anywhere from about 94-101 during the summer months.

    Needless to say I kept pretty skinny.

    But no, work is the only place I have air conditioning, since I work in basically a cardboard box we have an AC that plugs into the outlet.

    There's none of that around here.

    There are women, and they're fat, but they don't wear make up. My work environment fails to deliver.

    if my job told me i had to come into work even though the office had no AC i'd tell them to go f*** themselves.

    Unfortunately for me losing my job isn't really an option at the moment, especially since I'm coming up on 2 years here and they're moving me into a position relevant to what I'm going to school for.

    I want to burn this place to the ground on a daily basis, but for the time being it's my stepping stone :mad:

    Tell them you'll work from home. Offer to go in once a day if necessary to do face to face stuff that's absolutely necessary, and do the rest from home.

    I'm assuming you have electricity and internets at home.

    From my first post...

    Working from home wouldn't really be an option right now anyway. We're in the middle of disaster relief so we're in "all hands on deck" mode and everybody is working 6 days a week. At least I'm paid hourly.

    We currently have an assload of fans running, but it's a losing battle :(

    *sigh*

    I guess I am the only one in this crappy situation...
