I remember an HBR business case about Burberry dealing with a similar problem, where they became popular with the "wrong sort of people" (rappers and the like) and driving away their traditional customer base. But, I thought Jersey Shore was exactly the people they were marketing to. Is this some kind of reverse marketing psychology?

I remember Crystal saying how it hates it's brand mentioned in Hip-Hop songs. Then the rappers got all pissy about it.

As for A&F, this is a label that objectifies little girls by selling/marketing padded bras and bikinis, has an unwritten whites only hiring policy and features only whites in its ad campaigns.

I think they deserve Jersey Shore.

Most of us stopped wearing Abercrombie stuff more than 10 years ago.

I remember in college having a bunch of those sweaters with the wide horizontal stripe. Went perfect with my cargo pants and Docs. Can't believe people still wear it today.

I simply can't shop in there any more. This might make me sound like an old curmudgeon, but it's too damn loud in there. Turn the f***ing music down so I can hear myself think.

Sorry, but if you pay 60 dollars for a shirt with holes in it, you're a ****ing idiot.

I never really shopped there to begin with, but in my limited experience, you're right on. That store is like a full-on attack on your ears and nose. The music is too loud and they spray their cologne all over the place in there.

Good to see I'm not alone in always carrying a hostility for A&F and its wearers.
