That is the WORST example of fact twisting political bull**** I have ever seen. All it is worth is a . I'd like to add a finger, but I don't want to get banned.
It wasn't a thesis on American policy. I thought it was pretty clever. Do editorial cartoons outrage you too
Not usually...but sometimes. Generally editorial cartoons aren't malicious and are done playfully...kind of like a caricature.
Yawn. Anyone who actually believes those sensationalist lies probably would be a democratic voter anyhow. Any independent thinker can recognize this to be complete demagoguery and scare tactics.
I've seen editorial cartoons much more brutal than this! I guess I'm just not as insecure about the current regime as you are PS -- I probably shouldn't have said that -- really just kidding -- and throwing gasoline on the ever present political partisanship on this board. Carry on.
That is insulting to me as an American and to all our political leaders both democrat and republican. It's insulting us as Americans. Period.
VDP, with all due respect, many people were embarrassed by the Clinton administration and were extremely vocal about it. Now, another group of people is embarrassed by the present administration's policies, and a few of them put this hostile little movie together. For what it's worth, it echoes the sentiments of most Europeans. I'm NOT saying they're correct or that it's any of their business, et cetera, but this point of view (that the US is acting in a strange, worrisome manner both at home and abroad) is simply not a fringe opinion in the globe. Bottom line, IMO: that movie isn't insulting me or you. It's insulting the current administration, clumsily using some spin along the way. Period.
I went and watched the thing again (3X) and I still find it insulting, but now for a different reason. I find my intellegence insulted by some nimrod trying to tell the world that we americans are ashamed of our actions and if we had just re-counted the votes a couple more times everything would be alright now. Most of the actions this piece cites are actions that ALL the leaders in Washington are a part of. I don't think you can blame this all on the current administration unless you are looking at the world thru bleeding liberal goggles. I don't know how Gore would have handled the issues that face the current administration but I'm sure the Republicans would be putting their best spin on what ever issues they thought would most likely to gain them some votes. I guess the part that gets me is the "We are Americans, we are suppose to be the good guys". SURE unless you are from a different political party than I am then you are the scum of the earth. As a person with no political party affiliation I think it is ridiculous how every 4 or 8 years you have the whole, "don't blame me, I voted for XXXXX" syndrom where it is always the other guy who is to blame. Everyone always wants to point fingers and say "Oh it would be so much better if...". Personally I think we should all stick together, but I know that will never happen because half of us are always ashamed of the other half.
