Yeah, what the heck is going on with Adrian Griffin. I was so excited to get him, and he hasn't even gotten off the IR yet. What surprises me more is that no one is even talking about this guy. Not only will his addition to the rotation further bolster our defense, but he will also add an ability to move the ball around rather than attempting to make a one-on-one move that stagnates the offense. Also, his willingness to dive for loose balls and to make the "hustle plays" might give the Toyota Center crowd something to cheer about.

Definitely adds depth and flexibility! A. Griffin can guard the 3 frontcourt spots, and wing players, and is basically an energy player and hustle player and a defensive spark. Interested to check out Weatherspoon, he didn't do all that well in New York, but prior to that he was very productive. Adds a couple of quality bodies. At least I hope so.

I have nothing against griffin and wheterspoon, but what ever happen to earning your minutes, look at nachbar and alton ford, IMO they deserve more minuters than griffin and whiterspoon, well griffin should get minutes cuz he's been injured, and if he doesn't contribute when he's 100 percent, then give ford more minutes, alton's not that bad, i think players that are not on the regular rotation should earn their minutes not just hand them playing time like they have done to pike.

Near as I can tell, JVG is only going to play eight people a game. If either of those two get time, who sits?

Assistant Coach Tom Tibodeau was on NBA TV Insider this afternoon (just prior to the game w/ GS). The annoucer asked him if Weatherspoon was ready to play and Tibodeau's response was along the lines of "he's almost there, but it won't be tonight".

One thing I like about JVG is he (seems to) define the roles of the players and use them to create or respond to game time matchups. For example, these are possible PF matchups "roles":

    Cato : defense
    Mo T: scoring
Padgett : perimeter scorer w/ good hands and decision skills
    Spoon - rebounding

IMO, JVG will use a 9 man rotation occassionally like tonight vs GSW. And to be successful the Rox need to be able to matchup against traditional offenses (Lakers, Spurs) and non-traditional (Mavs, Nuggets).
