A 2nd round pick and cash. Whats the big deal? We're young enough and a 2nd round pick isn't likely to benefit us anyway. The cash part makes since because presumably there was a settlement made between the Knicks and Van Gundy, so the Knicks are technically paying him until July 31st. This is thread worthy?
How about this: What would be so bad about having no head coach or assistant coach (Boylen) leading into the draft (trades do happen), the early July Summer Leagues (Eddie and Nachbar need it), and preparations for summer SnTs or free agents (starts July 15th). So, we don't sign a head coach just to prevent losing a 2nd rounder, resulting in the BBS getting all pissed that we have zero preparation with a new coach for July 15 trades. please
