I was at a charity event last week and there was under the Silent Auction Items a set of four FLOOR SEATS to a Rockets game. Each ticket has a face value of $800, meaning the true value is $3200. I submitted an early bid, but thought it would go for much more and never checked back.

Turns out the winning bit was only $200 more than my $1000 bid. The four seats were bought for $1200 and the money was going to a good cause as well. I've been kicking myself for the last two days, but I do know who won the tickets and may end up getting invited!

    Damn...what a lost opportunity!!

Thanks for being such a cheapskate, otherwise I wouldn't be able to enjoy my beautiful floor seats. :)

Somebody must be paying for that $2000 difference. Whether the charity or Rox, so you buddy is lucky and opptunity like this never should let it pass because it's alway the winner pays a part and the organizer pays the rest.

Wow that's nuts, should have kept checking on them.

I've always wanted to get floor seats, nearest I've gotten was 2nd row behind the Rox bench a few years ago.

They're $500 not $1500. At least the 3 times I've been. My ex-boss has the 1st 6 seats next to the Rockets' bench, where the bench and folding chairs make a 90 degree angle. Those tickets showed $500 as face value.

The tickets were donated by Richard Kinder of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners. He's a billionaire and I think he can afford it. They're center court tickets by the way!

I guess center court would be more than the ones I mentioned. 3 times as much though, wow. But that's where Les likes to sit so I guess it must be the best. Seating for billionaires.

That sounds right if it's behind the basket

As far as where Les sits I think those are $800 and the handfull between the benches and the scorers table are 1,500
