    Why? Smart DPOY is a surprise to me, but that's only because I haven't heard his name much from national analysts. No idea if he actually had a DPOY caliber season.

    IMO, Gobert's defensive impact is significantly greater. I guess the voters were tired of Gobert winning every year.

    significantly greater is a MASSIVE understatement, a guard winning DPOY is idiotic, there's no guard who can impact the game even 50% of what rudy does

    Well smart was drafted 6th.
    Only guard since Gary P to win DPOY.


    For folks shtting on a guard for winning DPOY, just dem casuals.
