    Hasheem Thabeet - 7' 2.5" ; Weight - 267 ; Wingspan - 7' 6.25"; Standing reach - 9' 5"
    Jordan Hill - 6' 10.25" ; Weight - 232 ; Wingspan - 7' 1.5"
    Blake Griffin - 6' 10"; Weight - 248 ; Wingspan - 6' 11.25"; Standing reach - 8' 9"

    James Johnson - 6' 7.75" ; Weight - 257 ; Wingspan - 7' 0.75"
    Demar DeRozan - 6' 6.5" ; Weight - 211 ; Wingspan - 6' 9"

    No huge disappointments (although Griffin's standing reach is poor), but this draft class is still looking pretty weak. Jonny Flynn, Gerald Henderson, Brandon Jennings and Stephen Curry will all be busts. DeRozan and Evans have the highest ceilings but have a greater chance of being borderline rotation players in their prime. Rubio and Griffin are future All Stars. James Johnson is my sleeper pick but needs to work on his outside shot to find a nice in the league.

    What? you're calling off prospects as "busts" just based on their measurements? I for one am totally in the Steph Curry bandwagon.

    Geeez. Taj Gibson 6'9 3/4 in shoes 7'4 wingspan and 9'1 standing reach. He'll be listed 6'10 in the NBA. Whata shotblocker and rebounder, although he's alittle light in the pants at 214.

    You're either a player or you're not. Griffin's measurements may not be all that impressive but I think his other intangibles will more than make up for his lack of wingspan/standing reach. If we're going by wingspan/reach to measure success.... Saer Sene would be the best center of all time, DeSagana Diop would be an All star and Brandan Wright would be a stud.

    Agreed, his height doesn't hurt him as much as it would most PF's. He's 6'6.5" with shoes so you can round that up to an NBA 6'7". Blair has great footwork, great rebounding instinct and a polished post game to go with an impressive 7'2" wingspan (in comparison Chuck Hayes is 6'6.75" with shoes and a 6'10" wingspan). He's also a great locker room guy with a desire to improve like Big Baby so I don't think his weight will be an issue. IMO he's one of the safest mid 1st round picks.

    He's a beast down low, strength and motor wise, but he's nowhere near as athletic as most NBA PF's and C's. He has good feet down low, but he's still just an average athlete relative to NBA standard.

    No, but it will limit his defensive potential now, although he still has pretty good potential simply because of his explosiveness.

    Went back to last year and still trying to figure why the rockets didn't draft jordan over dorsey. The guy had a 9'5 standing reach with a 30" vertical at 6'11 260.

    Hard to say,we have yet to see if DM will go for a taller player with size,athleticism and a skill set who happens to be a role player instead of a star.
    The only example that we have had of that is of Deke who is a very experienced and polished defensive player and a former all star.

    It's also possible that he thinks future centers should have physical frameworks like a Dorsey which he talked about.


    Coming to D. Jordan,the main reason why I think he fell was because of his poor workouts and the absence of a professional attitude during the draft process. His game was also limited to mostly dunking and relying on his athletic ability.
    I have no idea if the Rockets would have chosen him based on his upside verses a college vet like Dorsey who is quite limited himself,if Jordan had a better work ethic.

    I think those measurements help Flynn. I kept hearing that there was no way he was actually 6 feet tall. Turns out he is, but with a wingspan of 6'4, which will make him seem taller.
