You seem to gravitate to BBC type cop/crime shows and a preference for drama over comedy.

Happy Valley was pretty good. It's a UK cop/kidnap sex and drugs story, very slightly like The Fall. The name, I think, made people overlook it - it sounds like a comedy but isn't at all.

Broadchurch, with David Tennant, who was easily the best of the new Dr Who actors, is a seedy murder show, too.

Sherlock is fun - Bennedict Cumberbatch is good at playing a weirdo genus - but is more episodic - maybe a bit like Luther.

The obvious comp for Peaky Blinders is Boardwalk Empire, especially the first season.

I just watched the premiere of HBO's Show Me A Hero and I really love it.
David Simon who wrote The Wire & Treme is the writer, Paul Haggis directs. Oscar Issac (Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year) stars. There's also Winona Ryder, James Belushi, Catherine Keener and a ton of good actors I recognize but can't name. A 6 episode mini-series.

Other than that I watch Bob's Burgers, Broad City, Portlandia, The Brink, Silicon Valley

Not yet. I believe the pilot is still free on YouTube. PopcornTime is great for computer streaming or you could use a site like couchtuner.

    This show is hilarious.
One of the best original comedies I've seen in a while.
Tim Robbins is gold in it.

Yes. Should be good, or I hope at least.

To whoever said they watched the first 5 episodes of Justified and then quit...

The show changes after the first season. Much, much less "episode of the week" kind of stuff and a great, large story arc with characters that are just amazingly well-written.

I just watched the first five episodes.

Damn that show is solid all the way around.

    Highly highly recommended.

I had to force myself to stop, and to think that it is almost all true makes it even more fascinating.

Bloodline is amazing. Only one season, pretty easy to tackle.

Ripper Street - about police life in Whitechapel immediately after the Ripper murders stop. Not amazing but pretty good.

Justified gets way better after the first season. No longer a serial, either, with season-long arcs.

Top of the Lake - well done, quick story of the hunt for a missing girl in New Zealand.

Top of the Lake is slow and awful. The ugly chick from mad men has a nice body though
