Seriously, this is the key to Curry getting so many wide open looks. Bogut coyly makes it look like he's maybe trying to cut to the basket when in reality his only intention is to get in front of the shooter's man. Most of the fans are screaming "HOW DO YOU LET HIM GET THAT OPEN", well just watch Bogut next time shifting his feet on the screens like Bruce ****in' Matthews.
If he was trying to screen me illegally (100% of the time) I would fake slip and tumble right into the side of his knee at full speed. Fire with fire.
Thank you I mentioned this in another thread. I can't count the number of illegal screens set by Bogut last game. There's just no way to defend that.
Rockets must find a way to take away the Curry wide open corner 3. They run that play A LOT. Curry pick and roll at the top of the key, then run from one wing of the 3 point line through the lane and down the baseline as a big man sets a pick in the post to free him up. After Curry hands off or otherwise passes GS swings it from the top to the same wing Curry is going to and then finally to Curry. The Rockets need to figure out a way to cut Curry off in the paint or otherwise shift a defender to the corner as he is arriving.
Their entire offense is built around moving screens. They've mastered it better than any team I've seen as the player continues to move in the direction of the runner and the runner serves as a shield to the others driving. It's almost like the way the Seahawks play defense with their corners - very aggressive, force the refs to call PI every play and when it doesnt get called, the receivers cant make separation b/c of all the contact. Seems to be a similar situation here.
I notice this too. He also did a lot of backing up into guys trying to close out on shooters. It was so obvious that I have no clue why it was never called. The guy appears useless at real basketball at this point in his career so these tricks are all he has left. I actually laughed watching his sloppy, crippled form try to run up the court with feet that barely get off the ground. Don't worry, he will injure himself shooting a free throw or something.
Whatever it take right? Maybe Kerr just taught his team how the Bulls won all them championships back in the day.
