Les needs to get the team built around Francis and Yao Ming as quickly as possible. He should be prepared to pay the Luxury Tax for three years till we get some of the high contracts terminated. If he dosent, then he is not going to make it big in the new Arena. The Public will pay to see STARS and WINNERS, only the fans will come through thick and thin. Les will be the looser in the New Arena if he fails to get the Team what it needs. Secondly, will Yao Ming stay after his Rookie Contract, with an owner that isn't going the extra ten percent?
    Stadium.....NEW

    PS Its about

    what I expected!

We don't even know how this team will play with a new coach and new scheme, yet suddenly we must make moves? It doesn't make sense.

Plus, Yao is under contract for another three years and Steve for another 6, I do believe. They aren't going anywhere for awhile - and who said everything has to be done now? There's plenty of offseasons ahead to make moves.

thank you. when are people gonna realize this. you don't just make moves b/c all the cool kids are doing it so CD can fit in at the next GM meetings.

posey isn't going to make us a title contender next year. and when we're ready, maybe we'll want someone else and be glad posey isn't here (assuming he doesn't sign).

and another thing people need to realize. the importance of all the moves and trades and signings of role players in the world pales in comparison to the importance of yao developing into a top 2 (or top 5 at worst) player to lead us to a title. if he doesn't do that, or we don't get some very big 3rd star, none of this other crap really matters. you have to have the big dogs up front. if yao develops, we won't really care which role player is playing sf b/c we'll be good. if he doesn't, we won't really care if posey is here b/c he won't be getting us over the hump.

and about the whole going over the LT thing. i don't remember CD's actual quote, but i don't believe he said we'll go over it, no problem. i believe the implication was it wouldn't keep us from making a very significant move/improvement. signing average to below average starting SF james posey does not qualify as significant in my book. nobody really goes over the LT until they're ready to contend do they. the knicks don't count b/c they have been the stupidest organization ever for about 5 years running. i don't think sacramento started going well over until they had their team in place and then they resigned webber to the max, christie to a lot, and bibby to insanely too much. dallas is pretty much contending but didn't fly past the LT until then. the lakers owner buss doesn't even let them go over the LT or at least is very wear of it. portland was a contender when they started blowing the LT away. the smart thing is too assemble a team prudently until it is to your liking, and then hold onto everyone and exceed the LT at that point if necessary. you don't just start going past it for fun or to keep a guy who played one good month out of 4 for your team.

i dont know about yall, but i'm sick and tired of watching this team miss the playoffs year in and year out. posey may not be kobe bryant, but he was our best SF and now it seems that he's bolting. teams don't get better by losing key players, especially ones on their weakest position. posey was a solid SF, and losing him doesn't make us any better, it makes us worse. this isn't a case of addition by subtraction.

it seems like all our major competition are making moves to improve while we idly stand by. that doesn't mean we need to have some blockbuster trade, but we came into this offseason w/ some glaring holes in our roster, and we've done nothing to address any of those spots. if posey bails, and we don't have anyone lined up to take his spot that's just as good.... well, that's just unacceptable. i'm not saying we should just throw him whatever he wants, but if it's anything reasonable, Les needs to give it to him. van gundy can only do so much with the players he's got.

i'll be damned if i watch the rockets miss out again.......
