Was never as good as he should have been, but he did do a few things very well. Decent mid-range shooter, solid rebounder who could run the floor and block shots and get some deflections.

He has been battling a cyst in his back for a couple years now, and is finally healthy.

Would you take a look for a minimum deal? He is 28 years old...

Makes Stromile Swift look like a HOFer.

He was another one of those (like Marvin Williams in 2005, also drafted #2 overall) who was solely drafted "on potential".

He seems like a stormile swift clone. That said, I'd sign him to the D-League to see if he can dominate down there. I think he is only useful as an athlete. If his athleticism is gone he's pretty much a worthless ball player.

Never understood it either, and drafted over LMA.

I said then it was a mistake and I'm sure in this state many people agreed. LMA had actual skills while Tyrus was basically just a athlete. I'm not sure he came into the league with any skills.

I remember reading something about a return last week...but i felt like it was due diligence on his part, rather than him actually being healthy and in shape to play a significant role in the league.

He says he's matured though, so who knows...

If you check their stats, it is amazing how similar the two players' numbers are. They really are like clones. Not bad players, just they never lived up their billing. I forgot that both Swift and Thomas actually averaged double figures for a couple years. Not exactly total busts, just disappointing.

Incidentally, I always remember Swift being terrible when we signed him as a FA. I was surprised to see he actually averaged almost 9 points and 5 rebounds that year. Not stellar, but not as bad as it seemed. I guess it is all about expectations in the NBA...

He's from Louisiana, so I'm pretty sure he can't read either.

I've been asking the past few years wondering what happened to him. I liked him when he played with good energy. I would totally play him over D-MO as backup 4.
