I think this is a short easy victory for either man. Either Lewis is overconfident and gets whipped like vs. Rahman or Klitscko is a glass chin like his brother a few months ago and the fight ends before I get done typing this post.
It's funny, he's too much of a nice guy and all that silly "i'm the best I had him the whole tiime" crap just looks dumb when he tries to do it.
Man, I gotta see the fight, and see how bloody it was. Lewis needs to give Vitali a rematch, or else Lewis will be labeled chicken ****. Atleast the fans are cheering for Vitali. I am sure he has gained the people's respect. Lewis is nothing but the champ on paper. Vitali is the People's Champ. Maybe they're setting up a Roy Jones Jr vs Lennox Lewis.
I think Jones Jr. is smart enough to realize Lewis would knock him out with a 6" height advantage. Unless Jones Jr. takes down the Klitschko's and maybe a tyson and decides that Lewis is doable. But right now, I don't think there is a chance of that fight happening.
Lewis said he wants to fight Roy Jones so I think there is a pretty strong chance of the fight happening.
Man, I just watched the post-fight conference on ESPNEWS and it was pretty entertaining. First, Vitaly's little group got their chance to talk about what happend. They seemed pretty mad about the doctor's decision and thought he may have not really seen the effect it had on Vitaly but they did accept it somewhat. BTW, Vitaly's cut beneath his eye STILL needed a little care. Then Lewis talked and was just a little arrogant...or maybe a lot. He claimed he was never tired and that Vitaly only held him the whole fight. One of Vitaly's guys, I think his trainer or something, asked how Vitaly could be ahead with points by just holding and Lewis asked who this old geezer was. He also said that none of Vitaly's punches wobbled him. He did say he'd give him a rematch and mess up the other side of his face if the money was right. Also, Chris Byrd (Sp?) made a cameo asking Lewis to fight him saying that he looked terrible against a guy who quit against him...blah, blah, blah. Lewis asked if he was done and said that he had his 5 minutes of fame. edit: Oh yeah, I forgot that Byrd said that Lewis and Foreman should fight since they look alike.
Roy Jones would have smoked lewis if he showed up in the shape he was in last night (and he stayed out of the way of his punches). Lewis was totally out of condition and, if Jones was able to box for 12 rounds and avoid any serious power shots, he would have easilyy outpointed him. Lewis was barely going to make it in the later rounds had it gone that far, he was sucking wind bad.
Vitali was headed for a decision victory IMO. I was at a friends house and I was adament that the 7th round would have been the telling round in this fight. Lewis (and I dont give a flying flip what he said to the contrary) was out of gas. Period. Vitali style allows him to conserve quit a bit of energy. Vitali was rocking Lewis with alot of his jabs and punches (did Vitali even miss once with any of his jabs?). I wish Vitali's corner would have pressed him to be a lil more aggressive after seeing that cut over his eye. There was no doubt in my mind that the Dr. would end up stopping the fight and Vitali's corner should have made him more aware of that and pressed for him to finish Lewis. Worst cut I have ever seen. In the end, I think if we had gotten 1 more round, we would have seen Lewis go down.
I would like to see a rematch of this fight in the future. I dont buy Lewis's "I was just getting started" excuse. Klitschko stunned him pretty good on a couple of occasions, that cut was just to brutal for him to continue. I thought Lewis was pretty cocky after the fight but what fighter isnt? I hope they do a rematch, I dont buy paper view fights to often but this fight might be something you want to buy and tape.
