He's just filling out the roster with scrubs. The young guys are going to get plenty of run and anyone who shows a pulse will be traded at the deadline.
Yeah .... He took the risk of going after all the big names , striking out on all of them ..... Had he hit on any of them & matched Parsons , we'd be thrilled right now. I don't think this team needed another star , just some solid pieces on the bench and minor upgrades at PG and PF along with strengthening the bench & they would be primed for a deep run. He couldn't do both because by the time the big names told him no all the solid NBA players had signed elsewhere .... leaving him to scrape the bottom of the barrel as we've seen in the past few days with Dorsey , Adrien & Smith. I'd have been happy had he went after Hawes , McRoberts , Ariza and then these guys. You have to give him credit for taking the risk tho .... Had he landed any of Lowry , Bosh , Melo or Lebron and matched Parsons then used the two cap exceptions on solid players ..... they would be the odds on favorite to win it all. Instead he came up snake eyes .... and we're all pissed off.
haha. he's coping with his horrible offseason by going on a cheap contract craze. he wont stop someone has to talk to him. next thing you know we get mike harris
Moves?? What moves we have a decent team.. Missed out on boozer and could have gotten Ramon sessions or tried to pursue dragic, & we have 1 roster spot left, who does it go to Garcia, Hamilton, not many people out there morey settles for cheap moves when we need depth not youth! Shawn Marion better be signed, him Ray allen or Evan turner..
He's salvaging a gamble that went badly. Ariza was a great signing, and everything else is just filling the roster as best he can without making any commitments that will hurt our flexibility in the future.
His plan is to be cheap as possible with the holes one turns out to be valuable and trade them for assets. It is the same MO we have seen his tenure as GM. Here is the thing though, we were 4 seed last year and could get over the hump with some veterans and experience, not dleague trash
Even if that is true, he's doing a TUURRIBLE job. There are better values out there. It's like he's flipping through old Rockets programs and saying...oh man, I wonder what he's doing...think I'll give him a call...
gonna go ahead and trust that the best analytics department in the league has a better idea of what value is out there than random internet posters...
Which ones? He's signing guys with NBA experience to min deals. I'm not sure how you get better value than that, without it being longer and more expensive deals or getting a discount from an older vet. The former screw with our cap space and the latter is not happening because they're going to the true contenders. Boozer was said to be highly interested in coming here if he cleared waivers. We could have got him a good price, but they bid on him.
Really??? You'd think if we had the best analytics department, we'd have kept Dragic over Lin, hadn't traded a 1st for TWill, drafted ANYONE else besides Royce, etc... I personally think he wants to save additional money on jerseys by picking ex-rockets.
haha signing guys with minimum nba experience to minimum contracts. he needs to stop being so cheap. get a real vets and backups on a real contract
Yo Maurry, you stop looking like a genius when everyone you pick up are retreads -- the better they do, the more you look like an idiot for letting them go the first/second/third time around. So just stahp already, aight? You're killing your own reputation and breaking the hearts of DMOFs everywhere.
I agree except that I think that Adrien, Dorsey and Ish are a cut above "scrub" and can be decent backups this season. We were desperate for PG, PF and C backups and now we have one of each. Not saying that Morey can't improve the team by signing others at any of these positions...
not only that, but thinks so little of the mid range jumper that their team was dead last by a mile in mid range jumpers taken? they're no longer palying basketball out there, they're playing advanced statistical analytics now
