That Dirk has said REPEATEDLY that he is resigning with Dallas cheaply enough to allow FA targeting. The man is going nowhere. Period. Dirk. Is. A. Mavs. Lifer. Dirk, Duncan, Manu (who else?) are long time star players who just. will. not. play. elsewhere. Kobe might, but not Dirk.
Money and attention talk and BS walks. If Morey, Harden and Howard go to Dirk and pitch him a real chance at a ring how can he not listen? If he doesn't then he's not the player I want here anyways, a dumb one. If Melo says he's staying in NY then it's over for the Mavs.
Bring in Melo first.. after that I think Dirk would sign here for cheap D12 Dirk Melo Beard Junkyard Dog
Dirk has a WELL RESPECTED ring without playing with superstars, beating the heats big 3, just took the spurs to 7, how is he dumb by not being loyal to the mavs instead of leaving to join a rival team that just lost 2-4 against the blazers and have half the coach Rick is ?
He's getting old, says he doesn't want a contract like the biggest anchor in the league (translation: wants more than he's worth), and I am not a mavs fan. For those reasons, I'm out.
Don't think he'll sign here but I would think Cuban is gonna pay him around $5 million this year and then Dirk is going to get around $20 million in 2014 after they play this free agent window in 2014. That's basically the same money we would guarantee Dirk to come here.
Dirk of all Stars knows how it is to fail miserably before they succeed. He lost to the 8th seed in his MVP year. Our team is young and in their prime. The Mavs have no clear future and Dirk only have a few years left.
curious as to why you think he would joing lelayup/wade who were the ones making fun of him in the 2011 finals? im sure he hates them and would never team up with them

I don't understand the Rockets offering Dirk the max. 1) It seems like a giant waste of time. 2) I don't see where Dirk would be OK being a shooting specialist. I don't see how he, Harden and Howard all mix. Something's gotta give, and there's no way I'd want fewer touches for Howard or Harden so that Dirk can get his. 3) The Rockets would be adding another subpar defender at a position of strength in the West.
