There is actually one positive from Howard's contract that no one has noticed,it expires on 2003.This means we would be able to free up tons of capspace(what,16 mill) just in time for a great FA crop.

Yeah,I know we would have mto wait 2 years for that one positive, but you have to admit it is a significant one.

Juwon is a good scorer, but scoring is not what we need. We need a guy that gets on the boards, blocks some shots, and has a little bit of post up game. Doesn't sound to much like Juwon.

    Juwon?

Juwan Howard has a nice post up game....or face up game. But he is not a shot blocker by any stretch.

On a second note, Howard still has loads of talent. A new start could be what he needs, but the guy is already a salary cap nightmare. I just can't see the good in taking on the guy's contract and taking the risk that he may start to bring it every night.

I like Felipe Lopez, but there is not currently room for him in the guard rotation. If we trade big, we have to get big in return. Otherwise, we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Jahidi White plays center,we'd still have JC,and the lack of a center hasn't hurt us recently,a quality big man might be acquired in next years draft.

Howard is overpaid no question but is he better than Mo?

Lopez is a free agent after this year so I'd probably take Profit, either can play small forward in a pinch.

Just a few thoughts on this one.

I've always liked Juwan and have felt that he hasn't gotten a fair shake, nor has he been utilized properly. He's a solid guy, and has begun to turn it around over the past few weeks. But his contract makes this proposal hard to accept.

Might as well dangle those two out there for Reef/Reeves from Vancouver.

No! Who are you, NBATalk.com? Howard is a cap nightmare. If Taylor doesn't cut it we've got other options, but Washington is stuck with Howard forever.
