Texas official caught saying 'get those blacks off the school board'

Be careful what you say because of new age technology. That's the lesson one Texas official should have learned.

According to local channel 2 in Houston, La Marque City Council member Connie Trube was caught on a recording making racists remarks and she's not backing down. When speaking about the financial and academic problems within the school district Trube spoke harshly about the "blacks."

“It’s not going to get any better until you get those blacks off the school board...She really turned black. She got on the school board with the rest of the blacks and they all just ganged up and that’s why the school system has gone to hell.”

Despite calls from local residents to resign and with an investigation pending, Trube isn't denying the remarks, but is actually doubling down.

"What is on the tape is nothing more than me stating my honest opinion and I don’t back down from that."

La Marque City Mayor Bobby Hocking spoke on the issue of Connie Trube and has stated that "racism will not be tolerated on any level." Hockinng also noted that the investigation will conclude at the end of the month were it will then be headed to the U.S. Department of Justice. In a world where recordings could happen with a click of a button, Connie Trube, like Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling found out earlier this year, should have watched what she said before her words became her ultimate downfall.

I don't agree with what she said, but you kind of have to admire her for doubling-down on the stupid instead of just issuing the standard apology template you would expect.
