Too good to be true? Eat your vegetables?

What's the story on oxalate or whatever from vegetables if you drink it?

Story: I got a vitamix as a gift, debating if I should make smoothies or return it.

Just eat a salad, and go light on the dressing.

I've tried vegetable smoothies, drinking food just never sits well with me, don't care how well blended they may be.

Well, if you want to try some new mixtures, you can always go to Jamba Juice. Just download the Isis app, pull up Jamba Juice, and you can get any small smoothie for free. My coworkes and I have done this numerous times.

The offer was set to expire at the end of April, but they extended it to the end of the year, or when they give away 1,000,000.

    I have a nutribullet.

I put a crapload of spinach in first...then a teaspoon of sugar...then bananas, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries.

I can't taste the spinach at all, but I don't consume spinach otherwise.

    I think they're ****ing great!!!

I bought a Blendtec a few months ago and I make a green smoothie every day. It's an easy way to take care of your fruit/vegetable intake/micro nutrients and they're freaking tasty.

I don't know what I hate more... preparing vegetables or eating them. But I do know what I hate the most. Re-heating and trying to eat some asparagus or brocolli that's been cooked and sitting in the fridge for a day or 2.

    Here's one of my favorites.

2 handfuls of power green mix from Costco (Spinach, kale, chard)
    4 frozen asapargus sprigs
    1/2 frozen banana
    few frozen mango chunks
a tablespoon of organic ACV with the mother (Braggs)
    1 cup of almond milk
1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein

And there you have a filling nutritious and delicious meal that looks and tastes fresh.

OP keep the Vitamix and put it to good use. I've also made some delicious soups from scratch, sauces, flourless protein pancake batter etc. I think Vitamix and Blendtecs are well worth the money.

You can't get it from fruit sugars.

Too much sugar from the fruit alone, not to mention adding refined sugar.

You're proabably never going to eat 'too many' veggies. Unless you're a vegetarian, chances are you're probably getting less than half of your daily MINIMUM requirement. That's where jucing comes in. I wouldn't say I enjoy drinking it, but I don't dislike it - I'm netural to it. But when it comes down to it, 30 second of chugging nothing but greens isn't that bad.

I typcially toss in some broccoli, kale, spinach, carrots, and a banana. I'll add some ice, a little bit of oj or another fruit juice (but not much more than 4oz, as you don't want a bunch of sugar in it) and water. Depending on the season, and what looks good, I'll add other fruits and veggies, since not all have the same vitamin and mineral properties. I'll drink that either for breakfast or after the gym.

Well that's because it's really a fruit smoothie, not to much a green one. Ingredients from fruit - 3 Apples, 1/2 Banana, 1/3 Kiwi, 1/3 Mango.

60 grams of sugar in a 15 oz bottle.

The green ingredients are great, its just that there's only about 2 grams of the actual greens in the whole bottle. While, 1/2 of an average banana for example would be 60 grams.
