If he can block, I'm happy.

There's no such thing as a BPA by round 3. The ESPN grades for the first 4 picks of the 3rd round: 72, 92, 58, 58. At this point you basically grab the guys you like.

I wasa initially upset about the pick. Feels like the Texans just love to crush fans and pick players we are not excited about. The Nix pick settled me down.

Find out more about him and you won't be upset at all anymore.

Doesn't matter. The team had bigger needs than a 3rd TE.

Not when your offense is primarily built around TE play. i.e. the patriots. look into it.

He won't be the 3rd TE. If he starts off slow he'll be our 2nd TE and if he lives up to his potential he'll be the best TE the Texans have ever had. Should he do that he could be top 5 TE in the nfl in a few years. This guy has more talent than most people here realize. He's the best blocking TE in the draft, already better than every TE on our roster. He'll be our Gronk if it works out, and GG could be our Hernandez light.

You're right. They don't care whether any of us are excited or not.

I meant 3rd as number of possible starting tight ends not inferring he is the 3rd best. I'm not doubting his talent. I haven't watched him closely so I honestly don't know. I'm fine after the Nix pick. I don't care if they got a top 5 TE if the starting NT was Jerrell Powe.

Didn't say it was a bad thing. They definitely don't care about mock drafts and player's projection. I think the mock drafts and all the analysis before the draft have us thinking about certain players and we're like "outraged" when the team picks a player nobody has been talking about.

A lot of fans think this defense is set and Clowney and Nix are all we need. I think we should have drafted defense early and often (unless a OT) since they drafted Clowney. But maybe they can find some late round gems.

I would have drafted Nix there, but they got him anyway, I probably would have still looked for a nickle back/KR, since we had two serviceable TE's on the roster. But I ain't mad about it, this kid will probably end up starting, will make the blocks on the edge that free Foster for big gainers and be a tough matchup on the seam routes. BOB is making us into NE South, if he can just find his Brady in the 6th.
