So .... Forgive me if I am dumb. Olbs: Clowney/mercilus Ilb: Cush/brooks D-line Watts/nix/??? Who is the 3rd lineman?
Crick/Powe for now I guess. They'll play a lot of nickel though, so a lot of lineups will feature Clowney/Watt/Nix/Mercilus
3: ________, Nix, Watt 4: Mercilus, Cushing, Reed, Clowney It's a studly front 7, regardless of who we get on the interior. Of course, Clowney could shift between the front three and "back" 4, depending on the set. But damn, we are stacked up front. We are building from the trenches out, and that is how it should be.
This makes four no doubt starters out of four picks. Just gotta make sure Fatty Fat b*stard can survive training camp. PLEASE BE NICE TO MY NT MR. CRENNEL HE'S JUST A BOY.
Also remember that the texans will be in nickel or dime 60% of the time. So that will change the configuration.
Dude had a 1st round grade by most people, love the pick. Has bust potential, but with a mid 3rd rd pick it's not a big risk.
What the Texans have shown me is what i hoped they would do...build an identity of Defense. Nix will be a huge question mark. When healthy, this big boy is the prototypical Romeo Crennel NT. A line with Mercilus, Crick, Nix, Watt and Clowney is going to be one of the best in the NFL...
When he's basically your only functioning NT at the moment, it's a huge risk. We signed some benchwarmer, but you're counting on Nix to start. Risk accepted.
I have no concerns about the knee if he had his meniscus sutured.. If he had to have part of it excised (Brandon Roy, Lance Berkman, Carlos Beltran, etc), then he would be looking at problems down the road. I had my torn medial meniscus repaired 4 years ago and while the recovery is much longer for a repair than a removal, I am 100% and feel great.
we traded a 4th and 5th to nab him...he better not be a bust...We have to get him to lose a bit of weight...target around 315-330
Crick for sure. He's better suited for the 5-technique in Romeo's 3-4 than he was in Wade's scheme imo.
Agreed, the kid holds his own in the trenches and they'll probably have him 2 gapping, he was a candidate for NT last year.
This is a very high risk reward situation. Even though he dropped, Louis Nix's knees and weight are going to be a real concern. Im just worried at practice, that our Dline is gonna destroy our Oline...consistently...maybe that will get them better
I had mine removed about seven years ago. It was a large tear and not repairable. I was 20 at the time and very nervous about it. I've had absolutely no problems since then. Lifting, dunning, biking, swimming, etc. Of course I am not a pro athlete, though. And, I'll also probably need a knee replacement down the line. I walked out of the hospital, unassisted, two hours after surgery.
