Best Broker?

    Any suggestions? I think Schwab is too expensive.

    I like Ameritrade.....so long as you are not looking for any investment advice from the broker.

    It didn't look like they make it easy for stock transfers from other brokers; did you?

    Also, do they insure your investments?

    I use TD Waterhouse. I like their research capabilities, and their fees are pretty decent. $18 per trade. I can live with that. The customer service is pretty decent, and they have convenient branches for me (not sure where you live). They do charge you $25 if you don't make at least 2 trades per 6 months, but I've never run up against that.
